Set in the current time.
I am sorting out S's bag, the one he had when he was hit by the taxi. I'm going through it when I find a pair of shoes in the bottom, I go to reach for them when I realise that it has S's toes and bits of his feet in them.
(real life: S didn't damage his feet at all, in fact, his head is the only thing that was injured in the accident, no broken bones or damaged internal organs, just incredibly extenstive brain injury. And he did loose half his ear. We didn't go properly through his bag for some time, and my mum did it in the end...she found his phone that we thought we had lost. My birthday present is still in his bag, it was 2 weeks late already, I've found it too hard to think about recieving it yet.)

Dream 2 - 16/08/10
Set roughly in the present time.
I'm out for dinner with friends when my phone goes. It's S. He has woken up in the hospital and doesn't know why he is there or what has happened and wants me to explain it all too him. My heart sinks and I wake up before I have to tell him everything but with the feeling that I just had.
(Real life, S has some level of conciosuness and is becoming more alert, and his muscle groups are starting to wake up. We still have no idea how much of his brain will knit back together, and how far he will get. He is doing most of his own breathing through a tracheostomy, with some occasional help from a nebuliser. Speech really is some way off.)

Dream 1 - 28/7/10
Set at an unknown time in the future.
I'm sitting with my brother S, he looks like he always has, and is who has always been. I'm crying and telling him how hard and how terrifying it was when he was in hospital. How at times I'd been convinced that he was going to die. But I was with him and he smiled and gave me a hug and ruffled my hair, and said "it's alright now, I'm better, it's all back to normal". In the dream I felt better.
(Real life: My brother is almost 4 weeks into his struggle to stay alive after being hit by a car and recieving extensive brain injuries. He is still critical and has had 3 rounds of brain surgery so far and we have no idea if he can even wake up, and if he can, what effect the damage will have had.)
